Bouke de Vries เฝ้าศึกษาการบูรณะเซรามิค ปัญหาที่เค้าต้องตั้งคำถามทุกๆ วันคือ “ความขัดแย้งเกี่ยวกับความสมบูรณ์และความคุ้มค่า” ในฐานะนักบูรณะ เขาสร้างผลงาน ‘แหลกระเบิด’ ที่นำเซรามิคแตกเป็นเสี่ยงๆ ซึ่งเขาเลือกที่จะไม่ประกอบมันเข้าด้วยกัน แต่เขาเลือกรื้อสร้างมันขึ้นมาใหม่ให้เป็น ‘ความงามแห่งการทำลายล้าง’ ซึ่งเปิดเผยให้เห็นทุกหลักฐานการแตกหัก พังทลาย ความรวดร้าวที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างน่าทึ่งที่สุดในชีวิตของเซรามิค ด้วยวิธี Deconstruction แบบนี้ ทำให้เซรามิคที่แตกร้าว ได้รื้อสร้างสถานะใหม่ ปลูกฝังจุดยืนใหม่ เพื่อเดินทางต่อไปพร้อมร่องรอยบาดแผลที่เปิดเผย สร้างตัวตนใหม่ขึ้นมาบนซากปรักหักพังที่สง่างาม

Bouke de Vries studed ceramics conservation and restroration. Every day in his practice as a private conservator he was faced with issues and constradictions around perfection and worth.

Using his skills as restorer, his ‘exploded’ artworks reclaim broken post after their accidental trauma. He has call it ‘the beauty of destruction’. Instread of reconstrucrting them, he deconstructs them, Instead of hiding the evidence of this most dramatic episode in the life of a ceramic object, he emphasises their new status, instilling new virtues, new values, and moving their stories foward,
